Babson College

ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Babson College, located approximately 20 kilometers west of Boston in Wellesley, Massachusetts, is an independent school of management that „educates leaders who create great economic and social value … everywhere.“ Founded in 1919 by financier and entrepreneur Roger W. Babson, Babson is the birthplace of entrepreneurial studies – which continue to define the campus ethos. Consistently ranked #1 in entrepreneurship for many years, Babson attracts budding tycoons and entrepreneurs from all over the world. All first-year students participate in the Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship course (FME), a yearlong immersion into the world of business where student teams create their own for-profit ventures. With a loan from the college of up $3,000, first-year students will create, market, execute, manage, and liquidate their own business in their first year of study. But even though Babson is a business school, students take about half their courses in the liberal arts to get a well-rounded undergraduate education.
